In the turbulent 1960s Dutch cinematographer Louis van Gasteren (maker of a great number of important documentaries) recorded everything that passed before his camera: views, anecdotes, family life. He stopped in 1969 and in 2012 decided to finish this film after all. Now it is a remarkable period document. Van Gasteren looks back on discoveries and illusions of yesteryear. We see reconstructions of meetings with LSD guru Timothy Leary and Avatar Meher Baba from India, an 8mm holiday film, and the miracle of his little daughter starting to explore the world. .
