(Semarang, 1968) studied Indonesian Language at IKIP (teacher training college) in Semarang and Communication at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. He is one of the founders of the magazine Gorong Gorong Budaya and the tabloid DeTIK, which was banned in 1994. Laksana's columns from DeTIK were published in 1995 under the title Podium DeTIK.

(Indonesia, 1971) studied chemistry, mathematics, and physics at the Technical Institute in Bandung. Her novel Ode aan Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch (Ode to Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch) created quite a stir. As of page one, it's an explicit book full of strippers, child rape, and S&M. Some consider this book by the now-traditionally dressed Muslim woman to be pornography, although it also incorporates Greek and Nordic myths. In 2009 Rahayu published a collection of short stories, Lacrimosa, which combine ancient myths with science and technology. Her stories have also appeared in various Indonesian magazines. She works as a teacher.

(Tunisia, 1960) is a writer, essayist, traveller and popular panel moderator. He has published fiction and non-fiction; was the director of the debating platform and venue De Balie; and was founder of the literary bookshop Perdu and the cultural centre De Tolhuistuin (all in Amsterdam). He performed with Enkidu Khaled in their jointly created documentary play Bagdad. Due to his curiosity about how artists recreate their cities after a crisis, he travelled to Sarajevo, Beirut, Tirana, Algiers, New York, Kiev, Jakarta and Qamishlo. At the invitation of PAX, he wrote Srebrenica & PAX 1995-2020, an overview of 25 years of support to the Association of Women of Srebrenica by the IKV and PAX in response to the genocide in Bosnia. In 2021 he published Gastvrijheid (Hospitality), in which he explores the art of hospitality through a mix of travel stories, observations, memories and imagery.
