(Timor, 1925) is a journalist, co-founder and member of the board of the Stichting Azië Studies (Foundation Asian Studies), a foundation that interprets scientifically the situation in Asian countries and publishes the findings. She is the daughter of a civil servant that worked for the Dutch and at home was only alowed to speak Dutch. After the second world war Fanggidaej became active in the Indonesian struggle for independence. In 1949 she became chairwoman of the youth organization Pemuda Rakyat. Shortly after that she started her career as a journalist, which allowed her travel throughout the whole world. In 1957 she took a place in the Indonesian People's Congres as representative of the journalists. In that function she was sent to Chile in 1965 to attend a congres of the International Journalist Organization. During this trip the coup in Indonesia took place and she was unable to return to her country. As an exile she first lived in China for twenty years. Since 1985 she lives and works in the Netherlands.

(Rotterdam, 1935) is a well known Dutch television maker and presentator, and alongside this he has worked for many years as an author of travel stories, columns and thrillers. He started his journalistic career as a sport reporter for the radio. Later as television journalist he made many reports in Africa, Latin America and Asia for the current affairs programme Brandpunt of the KRO. In 1967, together with Ed van Westerloo, he made the much talked about interview with president Soekarno, that went into television history titled 'I know what you are up to!' President Suharto was also interviewed by van den Heuvel. Alongside Brandpunt Aad van den Heuvel made his reputation with such television programmes as Van Speijk Show , Alles is anders show and Ook dat nog!

(Netherlands, 1958) has produced and presented the VPRO radio programme OVT since 2002, a two-hour show about the historical roots of current events as well as newly released historical books, films, commemorations, and anything else related to history. The show features live interviews, reportage, columns and a weekly documentary during the last half hour. He was already linked to OVT since 1992 as a programmer and previously freelanced for other national Dutch broadcasters such as VARA and IKON.

(Jakarta, 1930) is a publicist and since 2002 works as asecretary of the Wertheim Foundation in Leiden. This foundation supports the emancipation movement in Indonesia. Since 1966 Ibrahim Isa was active in the struggle against the Suharto regime. Since then he wrote many political essays. In 2002 a selection of these essays, called Stem van een Banneling (Voice of an exile) has been published in Jakarta. A second and a third selection are in preparation. Since 1986 Ibrahim Isa lives in Amsterdam.
