Writers, performers, music and film on five different stages in one theatre. In the literary programme authors present their 'Delphisch sayings', concerning the future of their continents: Tom Gilling from Australia, Robert Menasse from Austria, Adrian Nicole Leblanc from the USA and her Colombian fellow-writer Jorge Franco. Gerrit Komrij and Khalid Boudou will solve the problems of this world in a live e-mail correspondence performance. Also in this evening a Surinames and Antillian literature programme, four poets and their poetic vision on the future, and performances by Adriaan van Dis and Abdelkader Benali. And lots of music, including Denise Jannah and her new CD. One ticket gives access to all the different stages in the theater .

Antjie Krog, major poet and journalist from South-Africa, opens the festival with her 'Delphisch saying' on the future of the African continent. After this, a full and varied programme starts with literature, music, film and performers, on five different stages in the one theatre . In the literary programme there are debates and readings by Thomas Rosenboom and Frank Westerman, the South-Africans Zakes Mda, Sello Duiker and Booker-prize nominee Damon Galgut; three Indonesian authors (amongst them top-performer Putu Wijaya), and four Dutch poets with their visionary poems in a live radio-broadcast by VPRO. In the movie-theatres writers show their favorite film fragments that illustrate this year's festival theme. And there is fascinating music from the Sumatran musicians Syahryal & Grup, the world-famous Plaatjies & Plaatjies from South-Africa, and dancing through the night on Congolese rhythms. One ticket give access to all programmes on the five stages in the theatre.
