Shailesh Bahoran

(Surinam, 1983) is a dancer and choreographer who stands out due to phenomenal technique, originality and expressiveness. Although rooted in hip hop culture, Bahoran doesn't hesitate to work out of the box and takes inspiration from his Hindustani roots. In 2003 he created the first Dutch hip hop dance show, Age of Chaos, with IRC (Illusionary Rockaz Company). Since then he has worked with the National Ballet, Don't Hit Mama, Conny Janssen Danst, the Dutch Symphony Orchestra, the Amsterdam Academy for the Arts, Korzo and ISH Dance Collective. Bahoran has quickly made his name with striking productions such as Ignite, Aghori and Redo. The Dutch press celebrates him as a hip hop innovator and rising star of the Dutch dance scene.
