Political philosopher and cultural thinker Ivana Ivkovic introduced the funny, entertaining and energetic film Manifesto, with Cate Blanchett.

The 2017 film by the German Artist, filmmaker and photographer Julian Rosefeldt, derived from his multi-screen film installation of the same name, is a tour de force in which leading ideas about art and society are presented in handy portions.

Cate Blanchett appears thirteen times in Manifesto, virtuostically bringing to life fragments of 20th-century art manifestos, from Claes Oldenburg to Dogma. The film is largely shot in architectural monuments around Berlin.

Ivana Ivkovic

(Belgrade, 1974) is a political philosopher and cultural thinker. For Filosofie Magazine she interviews great thinkers who have exciting and incisive views into our era, such as the post-Marxist Chantal Mouffe and Slavoj Žižek, but also John Gray, who sweeps the floor with humanism. For the same magazine she also created an "Ideas for the 21st Century" file to collect concepts by important contemporary thinkers. She also writes think pieces for De Groene Amsterdammer. She regularly makes media appearances and, in 2009, organized the biggest public Dutch philosophical event: the Night of Philosophy in Felix Meritis. "Philosophy is no wishful thinking", she writes on her website, "but helps us to dwell on the things that really make us think." She focuses on themes such as citizenship, the transformation of public space and populism.
