was born as Elliot Josephs in Bonteheuvel, one of the townships near Capetown. He read the books of Kafka, Sartre, Hesse, Conrad, Dostojewski and Ngugi, before his teachers had even heard of these writers. This selfwilled attitude brought about his transformation into the "cultural terrorist” Zebulon Dread. In that year, without money, with a ancient computer, but with a lot of courage appeared for the first time the one man's magazine Hei Voetsek (Get lost). In this magazine, that by now has reached a cult status in South Africa and makes Dread both loved and hated, he rages against everything that is mediocre, lethargic and politically correct. All this written in impolite but correct African. Alongside writing, publishing and selling this magazine, Dread made the comedy show Hotnotsgot and wrote and published several books.
