For over 25 years DJ Bas Springer has been a pioneer and a connoisseur of danceable world music, from Congolese soukous to Brazilian baile funk. And from Ethiopian jazz to Cuban timba. In addition he produces the Dutch radio 5 programme 'Dichtbij Nederland' (Close to the Netherlands).

In the foyer you'll find the Writers Unlimited Bookshop of Paagman Booksellers', and writers autographing their work.

DJ Bas Springer

(Amsterdam, 1952) has been a pioneer and expert on danceable world music for 25 years. He regularly plays music at parties, festivals and concerts. If he isn’t touring with his records, he makes radio programmes and is active as a journalist. His expert knowledge ranges from Congolese soukous to Brazilian baile funk and from Ethiopian jazz to Cuban timba. Springer compiles the Dutch Radio 5 programme 'Dichtbij Nederland' (Close to the Netherlands). He also writes music reviews for the third world monthly Onze Wereld and pop magazine Revolver’s Lust for Life.
