On the Comet is an exciting 1970 adaptation of a novel by Jules Vernes, by the Czech director Zeman, on a 19th century rich French lieutenant in an African country, a girl who saves him from drowning, slave traders who plot against French rule. They are all sucked away by a foreign planet. A topical satire on random acts of violence in our society. English subtitles.

Having returned to earth peace is quickly forgotten. The Czech director Zeman was inspired for this film by old postcards and Victorian etchings and made a topical satire on random acts of violence in our society. English subtitles.
