Paraat of prikkeldraad (1953, 6 minutes, by Karel Nort) is a compilation movie on the necessity of the army to defend the freedom of religion, expresion and education, and political organisation.
Een nieuw dorp op nieuw land (A New Village on New Land ) (1960, 30 minutes, by Louis van Gasteren) was made in commission by the Dutch government. A movie about the coming into existence of the villlage Nagele on land newly taken from the sea. Van Gasteren shows his admiration for this enormous achievement in a clear and simple narrative.
