Film: Anomalisa

Michael Stone, a married father and respected author, finds himself completely numbed by the daily grind. On a business trip to Cincinnati, where he's slated to give a speech at a congress of customer-service personnel, he takes a room at the Fregoli Hotel. There, to his big surprise, he discovers a possible escape from despair when he meets the inconspicuous Lisa, a sales rep of baking products from Akron. Maybe she's the love of his live, maybe she isn't. Anomalisa is a stop-motion animation from 2016, the most recent film by Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Synecdoche, New York) and Duke Johnson, known for the episode "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas" from the series Community.
