In a future America, an undercover narcotics agent infiltrates a group of addicts in search of dealers of the drug 'substance D'. This sci-fi animation film from 2006 is based on Philip K. Dick's eponymous novel. The US director Richard Linklater made a very special film out of it, wholly in keeping with the writer's oeuvre. Unusual for its time, the film is shot digitally, featuring stars like Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson and Winona Ryder, and later transferred. It is in English, without subtitles. Before the screening, at 21.20, writer Auke Hulst told us more about the extraordinary work of Philip K. Dick.
