Jhumpa Lahiri (Engeland, 1967) was born in London as a daughter of Indian immigrants from West-Bengali. She grew up in the USA. Migration and uprootedness are main themes in het work, like in the internationally acclaimed novel (made into a movie) The Namesake, and now her new novel The Lowland. In Writers Unlimited The Series she is interviewed by the member of parliament and former journalist Tanja Jadnanansing.
