Stephen Rodney
also known as "Stretch R." was born on the island of Jamaica in the capital Kingston. At the age of 11 he moved to St.Maarten and that's where his interest in music grew even more. He wrote his 1st song at 14years old in high school and has been writing his own music and poetry ever since then. He states that his inspiration comes from all around him, things he see, hear and speak about. Poetry was a fairly new to him and at the age of 23 he started writing more and more of it. In 2008 he was introduced to the annually poetry event "Summer Speaks" and "Winter Words" where he recited some of his work. He has also been seen at other summer speaks and winter words events from 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2011 at the summer speaks event he released his debut cd entitle "Music N Poetry". He has also been seen at the "boos" concert for breast cancer awareness in 2011.

Crossing the Seas - Sint Maarten

The four authors who visit the eiland of St Martin on behalf of Writers Unlimited, will perform together with local authors and muscians Marianne Tefft, Giovanni Olivacce en Stephen "Stretch" Rodney. The morning after this performance, the writers will perform at secondary schools on the island.
