(1971) studied political science and philosophy at the University of Amsterdam and at Boston College in the US. She wrote articles for Trouw, De Groene Amsterdammer and Vrij Nederland and has been working for NRC Handelsblad as an editor since 2004. Her short stories were published in the literary magazines Bunker Hill and Lava. She was nominated twice for the Brandende Pen (Burning Pen), the annual award for the best Dutch short story. Hollak's debut, the mosaic novel Scherptediepte (Sharpnessdepth), appeared in 2012.
