is made up of Dizu and Lungiswa Plaatjies. Dizu Plaatjies is the initiator and former leader of Amampondo, the international celebrated South African marimba group. Nowadays he teaches at the academy of music of Capetown and works as a solo musician. Although the basis of his music lies in the (neo) traditional African music, he is quite capable of working in other musical styles and with other musicians. For example he has worked with in the Czech republic with the czech folk musician Jifi Pavlica, which was a great succes. Lungiswa Plaatjies is a new, fresh South African talent, who from an early age started to sing with the Amampondo, the group of her uncle Dizu Plaatjies. Lungiswa has a bewitching voice. She is the only South African female musiciain that can play the mbira and uses it in her compositions.
