Myron Hamming

(Groningen, 1994) is a writer and spoken word artist who, after a career in top sports, sought something completely different. He discovered poetry, was captivated by telling stories that people won't forget, and transitioned to full-time writing and performing. Hamming became the city poet of Groningen and secured the third position in the Martin Luther King Spoken Word competition. In 2021, he became the Ambassador of Freedom in Groningen. In 2023, he made his debut with Je droomt het niet zomaar published by Ambo|Anthos in Amsterdam. He has spoken and written on behalf of organizations such as NPO, Unicef, the Dutch government, AFAS Edisons, Humberto Tan, and the Royal House.
