Mikel Fernández
Spain, 1996) is conductor of Orkest De Ereprijs and assistant conductor of Sinfonia Rotterdam, among others. He studied orchestral conducting at the Conservatoire in Oviedo and then at Codarts Rotterdam, where he obtained his Master's degree in 2022. Meanwhile, he has worked on some of the most prestigious stages, such as with the Orquesta Nacional de España at the Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), at Amare (The Hague) for the New Year's Concert with Sinfonia Rotterdam, with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (Geneva) or with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra (Zagreb) as one of the finalists for the position of assistant conductor and the Lovro von Matacic Competition 2023, respectively. During Friday NIght Unlimited of the Writers Unlimited International Literature Festival The Hague 2025, he will conduct Orkest De Ereprijs in the world premiere of The Tale of Two Continents featuring new pieces by young Indonesian composers.
