Marjoleine de Vos

(The Netherlands, 1957) is a writer, poet, columnist and arts editor of Dutch national newspaper NRC. She writes about art, literature and cooking, and has a fortnightly column on the opinion page. A selection of these columns was collected in Nu en altijd: bespiegelingen (2000) and Het is zo vandaag als altijd (2011). She also wrote a column for the opinion weekly VolZin for ten years. In 2000, she published her first collection of poetry, Zeehond graag, which was nominated for the VSB Poëzieprijs 2002. Kat van sneeuw followed in 2003, then Het waait (2008), Uitzicht genoeg (2013) and Hoe verschillig (2021). In 2020, she published the hiking essay Je keek te ver. De Vos received the Groenman Language Prize in 2023: 'her delicate and poetic, on first reading mostly simple, use of language sings through in all her publications,' the jury said.
