Marjan Slob

(Netherlands, 1964) is a philosopher and essayist who writes about technology, democracy, animals and nature, and the influence of fantasy and imagination on behaviour, among other subjects. With Hersenbeest (Brain Beast, 2016), on the social and existential significance of neuroscience, she won the Socrates Wisselbeker for the most stimulating philosophy book of the year. For De lege hemel (Empty Sky, 2021), a philosophical essay on loneliness, self and self-image, masks, and your place on Earth, she won the 2022 J. Greshoff Prize.
