Liesbeth Zegveld

(Ridderkerk, 1970) is a laywer who specialises in human rights violations and compensation for war victims. The dissertation Accountability of Armed Opposition Groups in International Law with which she obtained her PhD at the Erasmus University in 2000 was awarded the Max van der Stoel Human Rights Prize. She has been a partner at Prakken d'Oliveira Human Rights Laywers since 2005. Zegveld was also part-time professor of humanitarian war law at the University of Leiden from 2006 to 2013 and since 2013 is part-time professor of War Reparations at the University of Amsterdam. She is known, among other things, for assisting the relatives of war victims in the former Dutch East Indies.
