Kay Sleking

(Zeist, 1968) is a tango guitarist and double base and bandoneon player. In 2005 he founded Guitarras Tango, with which he performs at home and abroad. Together with Julian Peralta and others he formed the Orquesta Tipica Tango Masivo in 2016, which mainly plays dance repertoire. Sleking studied classical guitar at the Amsterdam and Rotterdam conservatoriums, specializing in Argentine tango. He graduated with honours and immediately became a professor of guitar. He currently teaches at CODARTS in Rotteram. In 2006 he released a solo CD, Guitarra Y Tango, on which he plays traditional tango in new arrangements. Sleking is famous for his sublime technique and his interesting mix of polyphonic classical playing and improvisation.
