Kaveh Akbar

is an Iranian-American poet born in Tehran, Iran. At the age of two, he moved to the United States, where he now teaches at the University of Iowa. As a poet, Kaveh has published several works, including the poetry collections Pilgrim Bell and Calling a Wolf a Wolf, as well as the chapbook Portrait of the Alcoholic. His poems have also appeared in publications such as The New York Times and The Paris Review. In 2020, he was appointed Poetry Editor of the cultural and social platform The Nation.
