is founder and director of Jurgen Maas Publishers in Amsterdam, which focuses on Dutch and foreign literature (prose and poetry) and literary and journalistic non-fiction. Special areas of expertise are the Middle East, North Africa and multicultural society. Maas studied journalism and policial science. Writer-poet Rodaan al Galidi and musician Monir Goran performed together in this musical-literary programme. Al Galidi talked about and read from his novel Hoe ik talent voor het leven kreeg (How I Developed a Talent for Life) and his new poetry collection Neem de titel serieus (Take the Title Seriously).
