Jennifer Martis
(Curaçao) graduated in 2003 at Utrecht Hogeschool as creative therapist in drama. After returning to Curaçao she worked briefly as a drama therapist in drug health care. Since her return she has given drama lessons to among others participants of the reality tv-show Star Academy. She played in Den nòmber di tata (In the Name of the Father), by Albert Schoobaar. In 2006 she travelled to Holland for the piece Breakfast @ Oranje by Theater Luna Blou. Right now she is busy rewriting her winning play Tra'i seru (Behind the Mountain) of the writing festival of Theater Luna Blou. Since 2005 she has been working as a youth worker at the Youth Station of the Public Library. Here she produced and hosted twelve episodes of the tv programme Awó bo sa.

An evening with prose readings, storytelling, poetry, interviews and music. With Gabeba Baderoon from South Africa, Ramsey Nasr from The Netherlands, writer Nukila Amal from Indonesia, poet Jit Narain from Suriname, and from Curaçao performer/musician Boy Dap, writers Jopi Hart and Erich Zielinski and actress Jennifer Martis. Mario Kleinmoedig hosts the evening. Part of the evening is a discussion with the authors on globalization: 'Writing at the Crossroads of Globalization and National Context'.
