Carl Friedman

(Eindhoven, The Netherlands, 1952). Tralievader (± Prison Father, 1991) was her first novella. Jewish history and culture play an important role in her work. Twee koffers vol (Left Luggage) has been made into a film by Jeroen Krabbé. De grauwe minnaar (The Grey Lover) was nominated for the European Prize of Literature in 1997.
