Benkadi International

has existed since 1989 and plays modern West African music. She introduced Mandingo music in the Netherlands. Despite the use of modern instruments the traditional sound is preserved, especially thanks to singer Idrissa Magassa, guitarist Zoumana Diarra and drummer Dramame Diarra. Benkadi's unique style is a powerful combination of old folksongs, singing the praise of general social moral values and modern swinging music.
