Documentary from Indonesia: Abracadabra!

In his strongly ironically entitled documentary ‘Abracadabra!’ Aryo Danusiri unravels the peace process in Atjeh in 2002/2003, meant to make an end to the escalating violence there. Interviews with all the parties involved are mixed with images of a merchant selling a magical kind of snake oil healing all ailments. Both the peace process and the wonder oil appear a magic trick.
