Mariëlle Vavier

(Waddinxveen) is deputy mayor and alderman for Poverty, Inclusion and Public Health in the municipality of The Hague. She worked as board secretary at Jeugdbescherming west, an institution for youth protection and youth probation. For GroenLinks, she was, among other things, support group member for the GroenLinks provincial parliamentary group from 2011 to 2015, representative for the GroenLinks municipal council group from 2016 to 2018, GroenLinks municipal group chair in 2021 and list leader for the 2022 municipal elections. Since September 2022, she has been alderman with the portfolios of poverty, emancipation and public health for GroenLinks.
