'Fake: or the manipulation of truth': on five different stages fake was represented and criticised, revealed and revered. In literature, film and music it appeared in many shapes.
With a State of the Novel, Connie Palmen opened on Friday night. In 'Fake it till you make it' she gave her vision on the role of fiction in everyday live. Also performances by the Indian author Amitav Ghosh; with Alain de Botton; with the Asian, satirical writer Nury Vittachi; with an evening programme full of readings, short conversations, and music in the new and succesfull Wintercafe; with Herman Koch and Gerrit Komrij; and with unknown, surprising authors like Laksmi Pamuntjak (Indonesia), Youssouf Amine Elalamy (Morocco) and Jose Eduardo Agualusa (Angola).
