A discounted visit to the entire Winternachten festival day Sunday 16 April 2023, in Theater aan het Spui in The Hague!

Your festival day started at 14:30 with the programme Verhalen die verbinden (Stories that connect), in which, on the occasion of 150 years of abolition of slavery, we spoke with writers Astrid Roemer and Tessa Leuwsha, among others. Included an after-programme in the foyer with performances and book sales.

Then, in the evening at All the World's Excuses (19:30-22:00), we engaged with international authors on how slavery and colonialism can be found in contemporary literature. The writers read from their own work. Included a pre-programme with performances and book sales.

On Sunday 16 March, Verhalen die verbinden was Dutch spoken and All the World's Excuses was English spoken. The readings were in the original language but could be followed in English translation on a projection screen in the auditorium.
