Along Noordeinde: The Stories Behind the Façades
PROGRAMME SOLD OUT - This afternoon, writer and journalist Mira Feticu guides you, on behalf of the Winternachten Festival, to hidden stories along the Hague's toniest shopping street, Noordeinde. Here you can discover the still-unknown stories of old and new immigrants. In their shops, they quietly built up successful new existences. Due to their great love of culture and literature, they are willing to turn their shops into a stage. Writers tell their stories, and we also hear directly from the shopkeepers. They reveal their histories, their unknown tales.
Such as the story of Ofran Badakhshani, owner of Wijnwinkel De Filosoof -- a poet who fled Afghanistan. Or the unknown childhood story of the now world-famous designer Omar Munie. Or the tale of culinary pioneer of MiddleEastKitchen-21st and interpreter of ancient Persian music, Balout Khazraei. Tickets are free, but you must reserve! We start at at Omar Munie Flagship Store, Noordeinde 36, at 14:45 hours. At 15:45 we come to Wijnwinkel De Filosoof, Papestraat 5, from 16:45 to 17:30. Space is limited to a small audience, so reserve quickly via this page. The programme is in Dutch and English.
