Ayşegül Çelik
has graduated from Hacettepe University, faculty of Economics and Administration and from Ankara University, Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, department of theatre. She also took a Master's degree from Hacettepe University, department of Social Anthropology. Her stories, poems and essays have been published in magazines such as 'Varlık, Milliyet Sanat, Hürriyet Gösteri, kitap-lık, Doxa, Bütün Dünya, akşam-lık, Kent ve Gençlik, Bireşim, Hoşça kal Bay Düzyazı', and her reports in newspapers such as 'Cumhuriyet, Hürriyet, Milliyet, Star'. She has also written drama pieces for television, cinema and the stage and has written the script for a television children's program. Her radio plays have been awarded by TRT.Between 2002 and 2007 she has taught World Literature at Ankara University State Conservatory. A play adapted from Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar has been staged at the State Theatre. Her stories have been published in anthologies such as Kadın Öykülerinde Ankara an Belki Varmış Belki Yokmuş. With her short stories book Kağıt Gemiler she has won Yunus Nadi Öykü Award in 2010. In 1980 she moved from Izmir to Ankara and stil lives there.
